CJ is a character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that appears occasionally.
We found CJ roaming around the island on the third Saturday of the month.
He also buys fishes from you at a higher rate compared to Nook’s Cranny.
When you first meet him, he’ll ask you if you want to participate in the tournament.

How to catch three big-time fishes in a row
The tournament is very simple. You just have to catch three big time fishes in a row.
Just look for fishes with the biggest shadows. They can be sea bass, squid or any kind of fish that has a bigger shadow, which makes it very easy.
Once you’ve caught three of them in a row, you can get back to CJ.
One way to get fish to spawn quickly is by using fish bait.
Talk to CJ
Head back to CJ to let him know you’ve managed to catch 3 big-time fishes in a row.
He’ll offer to buy all your fishes for a premium, but he’s only around once a month.
Create fish models
CJ will also offer to make you fish collectibles. Just hand over three of the same fishes and he’ll send the collectible / model to you once he’s finished with it.
