Hungry Muto is the daily quest you can do in Chew Chew Island of Arcane River in MapleStory.
Similar to Erda Spectrum, this quest can be done three times a day but this one as three modes – easy, normal and hard.
For first timers, you should definitely try the easy mode first since it’s tough enough if you’re not funded.
Here’s how you can clear the Hungry Muto quest in MapleStory.
Goal of the quest
The aim of this quest is to help Muto win over Gula. You will see a bar at the top showing Muto vs Gula.
Your job is to collect ingredients and submit to the cauldron before the ‘cooking time‘ is up.
There’ll be a few rounds of successfully submitting ingredients before Muto wins over Gula.
Every time you succeed in submitting the necessary ingredients before the cooking time is up, Muto will gain a slight advantage over Gula.
You will win once Muto’s bar completely takes over Gula’s bar.
Collect ingredients
The whole task of this quest is to collect drops before the cooking time is up. The specified drops are stated at the top of your screen together with the quantity needed.
It may be hard at first but you’ll get the hang of it.
The good thing is that the location of all mobs are the same every time you try this quest.
This means if you remember all of their locations, finding for drops will be much quicker. The only random mob location is the Slurpy Tree.
For e.g. they may ask for 1 Juicy Fruit, 5 Crispy Backs and 10 Stale Toenails. If you know which mob drops what, it’ll be much easier. Keep trying until you remember the locations.
You can only hold 1 type of drops at a time
While collecting ingredients, you need to be quick and submit all of them before the cooking time is up
The downside is that you can only hold one type of drop at a time.
For e.g. if you collect webfoot, you can’t pick up other types of drops or it will be replaced by the one you pick up, and you’ll waste precious time.
If you need to collect 5 manes, then just collect 5 and go back to the cauldron in the middle, before going to another type of mob for drops.
Just press jump at the cauldron and it will be submitted automatically.
Use the river
When collecting drops, use the river at the bottom to sprint towards the cauldron in the middle.
Bonus (cooking time)
If you look at the cooking time, there’s a cutoff line for bonus.
Submitting all the ingredients while you still qualify for the bonus will give a bigger advantage to Muto, and you can finish the quest a little quicker.
Reward for Hungry Muto
The rewards vary depending on the time taken and the mode you chose.
The lowest you can get is 1 Arcane Symbol per try, and it goes up to 5 Arcane Symbols for hard mode.
