You begin your journey in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) at a deserted island thanks to Nook Inc.
This means you will initially owe Nook 5,000 Miles for the journey, tent and so on.

Ways to earn Nook Miles
There are many ways to earn Miles, and they’re mostly really easy. As there’s nothing much to do at first, you’ll definitely accumulate 5,000 Miles in no time.
Below are some ways you can earn Miles.

| Sell 50 weeds to Timmy | 300 |

| Use the Nook phone for the first time | 300 |
| Renew passport | 300 |
| Spending 5,000 Miles | 300 |
You will also see all the achievements in your Nook Phone, under the Nook Miles section.
Pay off 5,000 Miles to Nook
Once you have 5,000 Miles at least, you can talk to Nook in the Resident Services building to pay off the loan.
You will unlock an online redemption store, where you can redeem items using your Miles.
One of the things you can redeem is the pro editor.
