The in-game time of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) follows the real-time where you’re playing from.
But what if you’re free only at night and you want to experience daytime in-game instead?
Here’s how you can change the time inside Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Go to your system settings
Make sure that your game is closed first.
Next, head to the system settings of your Nintendo Switch.
Scroll all the way down and look for ‘System’.
Change date and time
You can switch off ‘Synchronize Clock via Internet‘ if you want to change the time manually and do not want the time to be updated automatically.
Next, manually change the date and time by keying in your desired time and date.
Another way is to keep the synchronizing on and just change the time zone. This way also works. It all depends on how accurate you want the time to be.
Start the game
Boot up the game again, and the game should follow the time you set manually.
How to time travel in ACNH
If you wish to time travel in the game, you have to switch off synchronization and set your own time and date manually.
The only downside is that this time traveling doesn’t work with events. Events will follow real-time and you can’t modify that.
