In Animal Crossing New Horizon’s latest update, you will be introduced to Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler.
Redd is a new NPC who sells paintings and furniture onboard his boat/ ship.
However, some of the paintings are fake and fake paintings can’t be donated to the art gallery in the museum.
Here’s how to find out if a painting is real or fake in Animal Crossing New Horizons (ACNH).
Zoom into the paintings
Before you make a purchase at Redd’s boat, you should examine each painting first.
You are allowed to zoom into the painting to check all the details of it.
Compare in-game painting with real life painting
Once you’ve zoomed in, you can compare the painting inside ACNH with the real life version.
If you see obvious differences, then it’s obviously a fake painting and you shouldn’t buy it. Fake paintings can’t be donated to the museum.
One way to find the real life painting is to use Google’s reverse image search if you have a screenshot of the in-game painting.
