Animal Crossing: New Horizons had a new update today in conjunction with May Day / Labor Day.
It’s to show appreciation for all the hard work people have put into their jobs.
During May Day, Nook will give you a May Day Ticket. You can go to the airport to use the ticket and fly to the island.
Once you’ve reached, you’ll see a big maze and you may fail the first time.
Here’s how you can solve the maze in the May Day Tour island in Animal Crossing New Horizons (ACNH).
How to solve the maze
Disclaimer: This only works if every maze is the same.
Grab the shovel in front of you when you begin. You will see the red toolbox thingy on the ground. It will give you a proper shovel.
Next, use the shovel to get rid of the shrub at the side. Take the peach and eat it.
Use the shovel to dig out the tree that’s blocking the way.
Get the worn axe
Next, you’ll be able to move around limited areas in the maze. Look for the other toolbox which is a worn axe.
Go towards the upper left corner of the maze. There’s a tree.
Chop down the tree and the axe should break. Use the shovel to get rid of the stump to get the 2 peaches and 1 branch.
Also, you should pick up whatever materials that are lying around (like wood or branches) as you’ll need them.
Get the iron nugget
Next, look for the left side of the maze which has the iron nugget. Eat 1 peach and break the rock with your shovel.
Take the iron nugget. Leave the tree for later.
Go towards the right side of the maze now and break the rock using the last peach you have.
Take the other peach inside.
Continue going downwards / south to reach the work bench.
Craft an axe
To get to the work bench, you’ll need to eat the peach you just took and use the shovel to get rid of the tree.
Use the work bench to craft a proper axe.
Once you have the axe, go back to the middle where there’s a tree here.
Chop down the tree with the axe and use the shovel to get rid of the stump. Take the two peaches inside but don’t eat them yet.
Continue towards the left side and get rid of the tree with the axe plus the shovel.
Keep going up until you reach the part with three trees side by side.
Chop down all of them with your regular axe.
Meet Rover
Finally, you’ll be able to reach the end of the maze and talk to Rover.
Take the bell tickets
Before you leave the island, get the bell tickets. There are four beside Rover. Just get rid of the shrub first.
To get the other bell tickets that are located near the entrance, you need to dig out the shrubs blocking the north side (northwest of Rover).
You’ll need to go through the northern part of the island and walk around the island via the beach towards the left until you reach the other bell tickets.
If you’ve saved your peaches, you will be able to break all three rocks blocking the way.
What if you failed the first time?
If you did something wrong in your first attempt, call Rescue Service.
They will charge 100 Bells but you can reset the entire maze and do again.
