Wine Wars: Belgaard is a side quest available in the Blood and Wine DLC of Witcher 3.
Your task is to help solve the dispute between Matilda and Liam on the new vineyard.
Here’s a walkthrough of Wine Wars: Belgaard in The Witcher 3.
Suggested level: 37 and above.
Head to the auction place
Go to the auction place just outside the city.
Enter the compound to trigger the cutscene.
You will then be introduced to Liam and Matilda. They can’t agree on who should get Belgaard.
Both of them will ask you to help. You can choose to help both, and it’s actually recommended to do so.
Help Matilda (Vermentino) or Liam (Coronata)
Matilda owns Vermentino and Liam owns Coronata.
As mentioned above, you can help both of them.
If you help Matilda
Choosing to help only Matilda clear the problems will result in her winning the title of Belgaard.
If you help Liam
Similarly, if you help only Liam regain Coronata, then he will be the one with the title to Belgaard.
If you help both
Choosing to help both will eventually lead to them sharing the piece of land. They will then cooperate on running all three vineyards (2 from them and the other is Belgaard).
Additionally, you will unlock subsequent quests if you had chosen to help them both.
Solve all Belgaard’s vineyard problems
Whichever option you had taken would probably result in the last objective, i.e. to clear Belgaard’s vineyard problems.
The first location will be an encounter with endragas. Kill them all.
You’ll also need a bomb to destroy the endragas nest for it to be counted.
Craft a Samum bomb in the alchemy menu.
You can pick up the flower needed (or buy from herbalist) and the saltpeter can be bought from the alchemy store in town.
After crafting the bomb, use it on the nest.
For the next location, you’ll come across Giant Centipedes. It’s a Guarded Treasure location.
The third one will be at the coast. There’ll be bandits all over.
After killing the bandits, you’ll rescue a hostage here.
The fourth location is another nest for Giant Centipedes.
After killing the centipedes, place another bomb on the centipede nest.
The fifth one is the toughest.
You’ll encounter a flying lizard monster – Slyzard. Use your Signs to bring it down from the air.
Go to Liam and Matilda
Once you’re done, return to Liam and Matilda. This time, they’re at Belgaard.
To get a special reward from them apart from the Crowns, you need to wait 3 days.
You can just meditate for 3 days to fasten the time.
After the 3 days, they will be waiting elsewhere.
Talk to them and they’ll name a wine after you.
The quest ends here.
