As a survival game that’s mainly based on water, you’ll come across many sharks in Raft.
Possibly the most annoying and exciting part of the game are sharks, as they will interfere with you gathering materials.
Here’s how you can kill and get rid of sharks in Raft.
Build weapons
To counter a shark who is attacking you when you’re swimming or to get rid of a shark attacking your raft, you need weapons.
The most basic weapon should be the wooden spear. It’s easy to craft and require basic materials like planks.
These wooden spears do work but it takes a long time to kill sharks.
As you progress, you will unlock better blueprints through research and you can make metal spears or bows.
Create even better weapons
To create weapons that require metal, you’ll need to get metal ingot. To get metal ingot, you need to find metal ores first.
Metal ores can be obtained from the seabed surrounding small islands. They’re usually deep underwater.
To obtain them, you need to equip your hook and hold your action button until you’re able to grab it.
Once you have metal ores, you need to build a smelter.
Next, place the metal ore into the smelter together with planks for burning.
You will then get a metal ingot.
You should then be able to craft a metal spear or arrows for your bow.
Kill the sharks
Once you have weapons, you can kill sharks but it takes time.
The best way is to craft a shark bait.
Throw the shark bait into the water and the shark will be attracted to it. When the shark is biting the bait, you have time to attack it.
Continue the process until the shark dies.
This doesn’t mean no sharks will spawn after this. You will have some time to gather materials before another shark appears.
