Selene Research Facility is the last part of the puzzle for Temperance in Raft.
You will have to navigate through the facility to eventually unlock a new crewmate.
Here’s a walkthrough on the Selene Research Facility including the laser puzzle.
How to find the Selene Research Facility
On the island, you’ll notice some sort of aurora-like light in the distance. Just go towards it.
As you reach you’ll notice that it’s actually the facility that’s beaming up the light.
Enter the facility
To open the door, go to the console at the left side. Use the blowtorch you found earlier (most likely found at the biggest dome in the settlement).
Then, use the Selene Key you found at another building.
Enter the facility and head to the middle of the room. You can read the note first.
Now, grab a hazmat suit. The hazmat suit expires after it takes a certain amount of radioactive damage.
Once it disappears, you’ll have to equip the suit again at the suit cabinet. There will be a few hazmat suit areas throughout the facility.
Laboratory 2 – periodic table
After using the suit, enter Laboratory 2.
You will reach an area with radioactive gas. To solve the puzzle, you simply need to key in the two-digits for each element.
Cl represents Chlorine on the periodic table and the number is 17.
Pm represents Promethium and the number is 61.
Rb is Rubidium and the atomic number is 37.
Key in all the correct digits for each element and you will unlock a lower floor.
Head down to the new area.
Equip hazmat suits again as you’ll need to go through another radioactive gas area.
To open the door, turn the valve.
Pick up the control rod in the next room. There will be 3 control rods in total and you have to get them all.
Solve the first laser puzzle
In the next room, pull down the lever to start the lasers.
Then, control the knob to reflect the lasers in the correct direction.
The goal is for the laser to hit the device beside the door. The door will then open.
How to solve the second laser puzzle
In the next area, you will need to solve the laser puzzle while the radioactive gas is there. This means you’ll most likely spend a lot of time re-equipping hazmat suits here.
We took some time to solve it and you can follow the images below in the correct order on how the lasers should reflect.
The door then unlocks after the laser hits the device beside it.
Use the control rods
You will reach a room where you see a ball of energy in the middle.
Insert all three control rods that you have found in the facility so far.
Then, use the lever in the middle.
You will get a Reactor Key.
Enter the Reactor
Next, enter the door behind which is the Reactor.
Once again, you have to equip hazmat suits.
The goal now is to rotate all of the valves in the area to stop the radioactive gas.
In the meantime, spiders will keep spawning to distract you.
Once you’re done, a new door will open.
Enter the room.
Inside the room, interact with the device to stop the cryogen sleep pod.
You will be introduced to Shogo, your new crewmate.
Lastly, you will see a note in the middle which gives you coordinates to a new location called Utopia.
