Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out a day ago and some players already own millions of bells.
Bells are the currency used in Animal Crossing and they’re basically money.
There’s a loophole in the system where you can time travel to the future and make lots of money, but it may spoil the game for you.
Here’s how you can time travel and make lots of money / bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Deposit your money to the ABD at the Nook Stop
This trick is best done before you get a lot of villagers or it may get messy.
Deposit all of your bells at the Nook Stop in the Resident Services building.
Use the ABD and deposit all of your bells / money.
Change your time and date
Once you’ve deposited your money, save the game first. Remember to close the game as well.
After saving and closing the game, go to your settings.
Look for ‘System’ at the bottom and choose Date and Time.
Firstly, disable the ‘Synchronize Clock via Internet’.
Next, manually adjust the time and date. You can set it to the year 2060 maximum for now.
After 40 years, your deposit in the ABD should have increased by quite a bit.
Rinse and repeat
You can turn back time to 2020 and deposit all of that increased balance.
Repeat the steps to keep increasing your balance.
What happens when you time travel backwards in ACNH?
When you time travel backwards, the structures that you have built in the future should remain. Plants and other stuff would have grown as well.
Most of what you’ve done should remain, but there may be differences in the villagers you have. If you’re still at the beginning of the game, then it shouldn’t change much.
We do not know the long term consequences yet. Do it at your own risk.
