In Hogwarts Legacy, not all armor or accessories are made the same.
You can actually add traits to some of the items and upgrade their basic stats.
Here’s how you can upgrade your items and add traits in Hogwarts Legacy.
Pre-requisite
Before you can start to upgrade your items or add / change the traits, you need to first complete the level 15 quest The Elf, The Nab-Sack And The Loom.
In this quest, you’ll learn how to conjure an Enchanted Loom.
This Enchanted Loom is where you do all of your upgrading for items.
How to upgrade gear
Once you have an Enchanted Loom, you can start to upgrade gear.
To upgrade gear, you need certain beast materials and the requirements will be stated prior to upgrade.
The upgrade will increase either your defence or offence stat depending on the category of item.
How to add traits
After playing awhile, you’ll discover that some items have extra traits.
You can add traits to items with no traits or those with traits but you wish to replace them.
There’s a list of discovered traits and you can unlock more of them over time.
