To begin the quest, speak to Sprottle in Upper Hogsfield. The suggested level is 17.
Discover what happened to Bardolph Beaumont
Head north to the location where Bardolph was last seen practising Dark Magic.
The exact location is shown in the map below.
When you arrive, you’ll see that the place is overrun by Inferi (undead skeletons).
Take them out.
You’ll then notice that one of the Inferi is Bardolph Beaumont’s Corpse. Defeat him as well.
Return to Claire Beaumont
Head back to Upper Hogsfield to deliver the news to Claire Beaumont.
During the dialogue, it seems that you have an option between the truth and lying that he pursued a new life.
I chose the truth that he died. She ended up sobbing.
The quest ended and the reward was a black handle for a wand.
