Trials Of Merlin is a main story quest available in Hogwarts Legacy.
Your objective is to help a stranger beyond the dock in Lower Hogsfield.

The quest location is shown in the map below.
Help the woman
Head to the woman’s location and you’ll see her surrounded by dark wizards.
Defeat the thieves
You’ll need to defeat all of them.
More Ashwinder Scouts will appear after the first group is cleared. Use Incendio to break the red barrier or you can just use ancient magic and hurl an object.
Talk to Nora
After the battle, speak with the lady Nora Treadwell.
She’ll then ask you to pick up some Mallowsweet from the chest beside her tent.
Solve Merlin’s trial
Go to the swirl in the middle of the area. You’ll see it clearly with Revelio.
Place the Mallowsweet on it.
Then, you will see three pillars.
You have to light the three pillars with Incendio. Do it quick before all of them go to the ground.
Speak to Nora
After solving the trial, speak with Nora to complete the quest.
