A Chance Encounter is a main quest in the latest game Final Fantasy XVI.
The initial objective is to take the head of the Shiva dominant.
Here’s a walkthrough of A Chance Encounter in Final Fantasy 16.
Follow the others
As you start the quest, you have to follow the other members of The Bastards.
You’ll eventually reach the two other members. A cutscene will trigger where you see Shiva’s Dominant.
Defeat Shiva’s Dominant
After the cutscene, you need to defeat Shiva’s Dominant and the other soldiers.
The battle should be quite straightforward. She uses ice attacks and you can dodge them as there are indicators before it happens. For e.g. you can see the ice forming on the ground so you just need to stay away from the area of effect.
When her health is low, she’ll use Blizzaga. Avoid the icicles from above.
After defeating her, you should get some crafting materials and potions.
Slay the Ironblood Crusaders
After Shiva’s Dominant is down, more Ironblood Crusaders appear.
You’ll be left with Tiamat as an ally. Defeat them all.
Defeat Tiamat
As Clive wishes to protect the Dominant who he identifies as Jill from his past instead of beheading her, you’ll need to defeat Tiamat.
After the fight, more enemies will appear in the cutscene. Cidolfus appears and rescues Clive with his lightning attacks.
Go to the Hideaway
Next, use the world map and travel to the Hideaway.
The quest ends after you reach the Hideaway.
