Dataran Pahlawan Anime Fest 2018

Hey guys, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka recently hosted an Anime Fest, probably the first ever in their venue! It was organized by the people behind Comic Fiesta and it had more cosplayers than I imagined. Surely not as many as Comic Fiesta, but the Dataran Pahlawan Anime Fest 2018 can be considered rather successful.

There were three guest cosplayers, i.e. Hakken, Mon and Angie. Hakken and Angie are Malaysians, but Mon is from Taiwan. They’re all quite popular judging by their social media accounts.

The event was held on the 24th and 25th of March 2018 and both days were pretty crowded. I saw different cosplayers on both days, but most of them were present on both days. I think Saturday had a bigger crowd (audience) but as far as cosplayers go, maybe both days were similar. In any case, it was fun taking lots of photos of cosplayers.

I think one of my favorite cosplayers was the Zenyatta from Overwatch! Quite surprised to see an Overwatch character here. I thought they only did those in KL or maybe overseas. The costume really nailed it and was one of the crowd favorites. Not forgetting of course a couple of ladies who really drew the attention of the crowd. I mean, people were just swarming around them waiting to take photos or we-fies with them.
