Continue inside and you’ll face more enemies. Slay them all.

Defeat the Imperial Cannoneer

You will then need to beat an elite mob, i.e. the Imperial Cannoneer.

There are two phases to this fight. The first phase should be easier.

For the second phase, the Cannoneer goes Akashic and becomes stronger.

After beating this elite, you’ll get The Favor of the Inferno (Ignition) accessory.

Proceed ahead

Continue exploring the area.

You’ll start to meet Akashic miners and soldiers. They are basically drowned in aether which makes them stronger but is a death sentence.

Proceed ahead by breaking the wood.

You will be introduced to warcry. Some opponents may use a war cry so you have to target those first.

Head to the Mothercrystal

Along the way to the Mothercrystal, you’ll face different kinds of enemies like Wraiths and Specters.

After a few groups of enemies, you’ll eventually reach the bridge.

Defeat the Akashic Dragon

You will then meet a dragon that is drowned in aether. Defeat the Akashic Dragon.

Apart from the usual melee attacks, this dragon can do a few other moves like Cauterize which can be dodged.

During the fight, use Gouge to lower his stagger fast and once it’s finally staggered, spam all of your main abilities and your Limit Break.

Continue the process until you win.

Go to the Inner Sanctum

Open the gate and head into the Inner Sanctum.

Walk all the way to the end to reach the Mothercrystal.

Cid primes into Ramuh to destroy the Mothercrystal. After the crystal is destroyed, a portal appears and Typhon attacks Ramuh.

Typhon somehow grabs Clive into another dimension.

Defeat Typhon

The first phase is where Typhon summons his minions. Slay them all.

There are a few waves of this. In each wave, Typhon gets more attacks and he can use big AoE attacks while you face his minions.

Just avoid the circles.

For the next wave, Typhon can beam a laser of blue fire. Run away whenever he does that.

After the minion stage is over, you’ll have to fight Typhon as Ifrit.

To damage Typhon quickly, you should aim to do the four-hit melee combo and the magic burst that you do with Clive.

After the magic burst, use melee immediately for Ifrit to do much bigger damage.

During the fight, you’ll be taught that Typhon uses Wildfire.

Whenever you see the purple circle forming, just sprint away.

After Typhon is defeated for the first time, he will then transform into a stronger version.

The fight is similar except Typhon has more moves like laser beams.

He can also create Demon Walls where you have to quickly go through the gap. This can’t be dodged directly through the wall.

After Typhon is defeated, you’ll get The Breath of Fire (Flames of Rebirth) accessory.

More cutscenes

You will then learn that the creature’s name is Ultima and he wishes to use Clive as a vessel.

Cid stabs him.

Unfortunately, Cid succumbs to his injury and passes his powers to Clive.

Ultima reappears and attacks the trio. Joshua then shows up and stops him.

Joshua eventually prisons Ultima in his fire shield and absorbs Ultima into his own body.

In the meantime, the Mothercrystal at Sanbreque is destroyed.

The Titan and his men also attacked Cid’s Hideaway and killed most of the people inside.

The story continues five years later where Clive and Jill is seen at the Dhalmekian Republic.

Clive now adopts the name of Cid. The quest ends here.
