In Final Fantasy XVI, you’ll be able to ride a Chocobo after a certain point.
It requires you to reach a part of the story and do a side quest.
Here’s how you can unlock the Chocobo in Final Fantasy 16.
How to unlock the Chocobo in FFXVI
First of all, you need to have unlocked the main quest The Gathering Storm which forces you to come back to Martha’s Rest.
After solving the problem in Martha’s Rest, you will see that a new side quest is unlocked in the map.
The side quest is called The White-Winged Wonder. Talk to Rowan the trader to begin.
Look for the Chocobo at the marked area on the map.
Continue to follow its trail all the way and it leads you to some bandits. Slay all of the bandits.
The second wave of enemies will include a tougher Huntsman elite.
After defeating the enemies, you’ll realize that the white Chocobo is actually Ambrosia who is Clive’s Chocobo from many years ago.
As part of the spoils, you’ll unlock an Ambrosia’s Tack which is displayed in Clive’s chambers.
Most importantly, you have unlocked the Chocobo. You can now use the Chocobo when traveling around.
Jill will also automatically equip her own Chocobo.
