The Ritz-Carlton is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Kuala Lumpur city center.
At the moment, it’s managed by the Marriott chain and the first impression was really great.
Here’s a brief review of The Ritz-Carlton hotel in Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, particularly of the room.
As usual, none of this is sponsored.
First impression of the hotel
The Ritz has a very impressive appearance and just spells out luxury everywhere you go.
It’s definitely one of the poshest hotels I’ve been to.
The image below is of the lounge and the elevator to my room so happens to be through this lounge.
Check-in was pretty quick and the staff were all very friendly. The receptionist even brought me all the way to the room and showed me some of the areas in the hotel.
The staff will also send your luggage to the room.
The room itself
I booked a room for myself and it was pretty huge.
Inside, you’ll immediately notice a coffee machine, similar (or the same) to the one they have in JW Marriott.
You have a few different sachets to choose from.
The interior of the room is pretty nice. You’ll immediately notice the bed and a sofa on the side. They’re both facing the television.
You’ll have access to a flat screen TV with quite a number of channels.
They provided a channels listing guide as well. Unfortunately, not all channels were accessible.
Apart from the TV, you can choose to either have a king sized bed or two single beds (closer to queen size).
Needless to say, the bed was firm and you’ll easily fall asleep on it.
As always, there’s an in-room dining if you’re interested.
A table is also provided if you wish to do your work or use your laptop.
This room also came with a wi-fi that is sufficient for streaming YouTube videos.
The downside to the room was that it was facing an undergoing construction of a tall building.
It will take some time before the construction is finished.
The bathroom
The size of the bathroom is sufficiently big and it looks pretty good.
You’ll immediately notice the bath tub on your right and it even comes with bath salt.
There’s a separate shower area and you can either use the handheld shower head or the rain shower head.
The water pressure was good and the heater works perfectly.
There’s also a separate room for the toilet itself, which comes equipped with a bidet and toilet paper.
The Ritz-Carlton uses the brand Asprey for their products, including the shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion.
They also supply the usual amenities: toothbrush, shaver, hair dryer and so on.
In a nutshell
All in all, the service at Ritz-Carlton Imbi was exceptional and the room was really good, in comparison with some of the other hotels in the area.
As expected, the price can be steep for some but it’s worth the money if you’re into staycations.
You should also check out their restaurants, be it for the buffet (Cobalt Room), high tea (lounge) or the Chinese dim sum (Li Yen).
