One of the main quests in Soccer Story is to convince OAP Athletic to play soccer again.
This requires you to open a path at the west exit of Soccertown and find a way into the nursing home.
Here’s a guide on convincing OAP Athletic to play soccer in Soccer Story.
Talk to the janitor
First of all, meet the janitor at the south exit of Soccertown.
He’ll ask you to clear his boxes with the broom symbol on it. Head to the west side exit of Soccertown to do so.
After clearing them, talk to the janitor again.
If you can’t get the quest objective to complete, try going to the other side of the blockage at the west exit. It worked for me.
Now, head to the west exit that is cleared and talk to Gran. She’ll return to the care home.
Find a way into the Care Home
Talk to Gran again who is now in front of the Care Home.
You’ll need to find a way into the Care Home. There are three buttons on the ground around the home.
If you look at the signage, you’ll notice star, sun and moon.
Follow the order and step on the buttons. The first button is just beside the signage.
The second and third buttons are on the right side.
The tree will then disappear and you can sneak behind the home.
Watch out for the lasers. One of the lasers is continuous so you need to use the ball to destroy the target where the laser is.
Make your way around the compound and enter the Care Home. Talk to the receptionist.
Convince three OAP Athletic players
Inside the Care Home, talk to all of them.
Two people will require something in return. One needs carrot soup and the other needs an energy drink.
Go back to your house and talk to mum. She’ll take whatever golden carrots you have and make soup.
Golden carrots are on the ground around the village and you can slide to pick them up.
Now, head to the vending machine in front of the football field. One of them is stuck.
Shoot the ball at it to get the energy drink.
Return to the Care Home to give the soup and drink.
For the last player, talk to Tobby sitting outside the Home.
He’ll ask you to retrieve a shooting upgrade medal inside the room that is blocked.
Go to the back of the Care Home and look for the door. Just keep spamming the action button and you’ll find it.
You will then end up in the back room. Take the medal from the chest.
Talk to Tobby and he’ll ask you to upgrade shooting.
Finally, do the crossbar challenge. You have to hit the crossbar five times on both the red and blue goalposts.
Aim at the crossbar with the right analog, and once you have the correct spot, you can just use the regular kick button to make it quicker.
Finish the challenge in 1 minute and he’ll agree to play. Talk to Bob to complete the quest.
