As mentioned in a previous article, Pixels is doing an airdrop of their tokens $PIXEL and $BERRY in a few days.
New players will only have about a week or less than that to farm points for the airdrop.
Here’s how you can get more points for the Pixels airdrop if you’re starting today.
How to accumulate points
If you go to the Pixels airdrop page (ref link), you’ll see your points and rank. You have to be in the top 20,000 during the snapshot on the 31st of October 2022. We’re not sure what time yet.
At the beginning, you have to accumulate badges to get a lot of points. However, the Lian the Master and Wild Goose Chase were old quests and no longer obtainable. You can get the rest including Top Farmer which means the top 10% in farming. Chosen Ones is for the top 200 and it’s probably too late to compete for that.
There are four doable quests at the moment. They may release more 24-hour quests just before the airdrop snapshot, so watch out for those.
You can also accumulate points from referrals. Your referrals have to register with Premint, Discord and Twitter for you to get 250 points per referral. Here’s my referral link if you wish to help me.
Another way is to buy the Pixel Farm NFTs but they cost quite a bit. Each NFT will give you 1,500 points and 10 points daily if you hold them. However, the 1,500 points is gone if you sell the NFT.
Most direct way to get points is by farming carrots
This is the most tedious but the most certain way of accumulating points to be in the top 20,000. You will need to farm thousands of carrots a day if possible.
At the start of the game, you will only have money for a few seeds. You can sell the golden popberry seeds from another quest and buy carrot seeds. Golden popberries give the most XP and points, but they need 7 days to harvest meaning it’s too late for airdrop purposes.
Plant as many carrot seeds as you can. Water them (new requirement). In five hours plus, they will be ready to harvest. Each time you harvest a carrot, you will get 2 seeds. This means your seeds will keep multiplying the more rounds of harvesting you do.
In 2 – 3 days, you will be able to start planting thousands of carrot seeds. Thousands of carrots will probably take a few hours a day. For every thousand carrots, you will gain 125 points. Each carrot is 5 XP and 40 XP = 1 point. This means 8 carrots = 1 point.
Getting points from farming alone doesn’t seem a lot but you should be able to get the Top Farmer badge which gives you 2,000 points. That will push you into the top 20,000. However, you can lose the badge if you fail to maintain your top 10% spot.
How to find hundreds of farms to plant on
Go to the Pixels discord. There’s a channel called come-farm-with-me.
Inside, you’ll see land owners advertising their lands. Some of them are chains, meaning you start from a farm and each farm is linked with a portal. There can be hundreds of farms for each chain and allows you to plant thousands of carrots.
I personally use the 231 and 555 chains. This means you type the farm number behind the URL —> https://play.pixels.xyz/farm555 as an example.
How to check for land tax
Land owners can impose tax for using their land. You can check the tax if you look at the top left of your screen. There’s an arrow. Click on it and you’ll see the tax.
Most of the more well-known farm chains have low tax. You can ask around the Discord for suggestions.
It took me about 3 days to reach top 10,000 but I have to keep hustling to maintain the rank until the airdrop.
