Neopets launched their own version of the metaverse last year during the peak of NFTs and we’re finally seeing something tangible.
Within these few weeks, the alpha version of the Neopets Metaverse can be played by the Neopets Metaverse NFT owners, among other groups of people.
At the time of writing, only three classic Neopets games are available and they have been redesigned in a way.
Here’s a very brief overview on the Neopets Metaverse alpha.
The metaverse of Neopets
They have finally revealed the layout of the Neopets metaverse and it’s basically like the old Neopets but in a 3D redesign.
At the time of writing, owners of the Neopets Metaverse Collection, Pizzaroo’s Unique Pizzas and Neopets Masterpiece NFTs can try out the alpha. Also invitations may have been given to a select few who do not have the NFTs.
For the time being, there’s nothing to explore in the metaverse yet other than the Games Room.
Three games are available during the alpha
Inside the Games Room, there are three of the most popular or among the most popular games during the peak of Neopets.
They are Turmac Roll, Meerca Chase and Ultimate Bullseye. I’ve personally played all of them many times over a decade ago.
All three of the games have been remade so they are different visually, and the graphics are more updated towards the current generation.
My personal favorite among the three games listed is probably Turmac Roll. It’s visually more updated but the gameplay remains the same.
For long-time fans of Neopets, it should be easy to get back to these games based on experience alone.
All in all, there’s still a long way to go before we get to experience a full Neopets Metaverse.
