Hoshino Coffee is a brand founded in Japan and has more than 180 outlets worldwide.
This cafe took the place of Tim Ho Wan that closed more than a year ago, in Midvalley Megamall.
It’s in the middle of the walkway between the older side of Midvalley and the Gardens Mall.
Here’s a brief review of Hoshino Coffee in Midvalley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.
This was my first time checking out this place. The interior of the cafe is quite pleasant and well decorated.
It definitely gives a great ambience and may well be a good hangout spot with friends and family.
You also get a view of the outside where many people walk by.
I ordered the regular coffee and it comes with milk and sugar, but they separated it for you, where you can pour them as much as you want.
That being said, they weren’t really enough portion-wise if you like it sweet.
Next is the Japanese curry rice. It looks like the typical curry rice you find in Japan, but this particular rice comes with a poached egg inside the curry, plus some additional dips.
The curry is more flavorful than the usual Japanese curry rice you find in other Japanese restaurants.
We also ordered the signature omurice with fried chicken. The egg is cooked really well and the chicken is fried to a crisp.
Another signature dish that you should try (unless you’re lactose intolerant) is this souffle fried rice.
The rice is similar to the one in the omurice and the souffle is just amazing in terms of its texture.
It’s like this fluffy cloud of egg and cheese that just melts in your mouth. Once again, not a dish for those who can’t take dairy products.
Otherwise, it’s a good order.
Last but not least, we ordered the french toast. This one is the strawberry version as it’s the current theme now.
The french toast is soft but slightly crispy on the edges. The top is actually not ice cream, but more like regular cream.
You have to pay extra for the ice cream or other toppings.
All in all, Hoshino Coffee was quite a pleasant experience, with good food and a better ambience.
