Percival Rackham’s Trial is a main story quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
Your objective is to pass Rackham’s first trial and learn more on what it’s about.
Here’s a walkthrough & guide of Percival Rackham’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy.
The required level is 11.
To begin the quest, head to the tower north of the world map as shown below.
Meet Professor Fig
If you have a broomstick, you can fly there to meet Professor Fig.
Investigate the goblin presence
Head to the tower where the goblins are. Use Disillusionment to make it hard for them to see you.
You can take out the first goblin by sneaking up to him.
Look for the tent at the left-side. There’s a note to read.
You might as well kill all of the goblins inside.
Search the tower
After investigating goblin presence, head to the tower through the main door.
After going all the way up, you’ll then need to do the trial near the entrance.
Go back down and investigate the source of magic. You’ll notice that your steps will cause some magic splash sounds. Walk around until you find the trail of magic.
After activating it, enter the portal and start the first trial.
Complete Percival Rackham’s trial
Inside the trial area, the bridge is missing. Go down the stairs and investigate the magic source.
You can now use the bridge.
Go to the end and investigate the magic source.
Go through the portal.
You’ll then meet a Pensieve Protector and Sentinels. Defeat them all.
Continue ahead and you’ll see a floating platform.
Use Accio to drag the platform towards you and jump on it. Use Accio on the middle drawer for you to proceed ahead.
Look to the right and you’ll see another handle. Use Accio towards it.
Investigate the traces of magic.
Enter the portal that appears and before you leave, loot all of the chests.
Then, make your way ahead near where the portal was and you’ll reach more Pensieve enemies.
After defeating them, continue ahead. You’ll see another floating platform.
Instead of going on it, climb the stairs to the other side.
You’ll notice some traces of magic suspended mid-air. Use Accio to bring the platform over and stand on it to access the magic.
A new portal appears and you can go through it.
The portal changes the room depending on which side you enter from. You can see either red or blue traces on the edges of your screen to know which side you’re on.
On the blue side, stand on the platform and drag it all the way to the left-side.
Enter the red-side and you’ll see the handle at the destination. Use Accio and go towards it.
You will enter a big room with more Pensieve monsters.
After the fight, proceed ahead. Investigate the traces of magic first to form a portal.
Drag the platform towards you and use it.
Look to your right and use Accio towards the right-side handle.
From the right-side, use Accio on the handle that’s only visible from this view.
Jump down to the floor and get the chest first.
Then, you’ll see two platforms through the blue portal.
Use Accio and drag the left-side platform past the blue portal, and make sure a small part of it goes through the portal.
This enables you to see both platforms when not viewed through the portal.
Now, jump on the right-side portal and eventually jump on the left-side platform.
Use Accio on the handle far away to get there. As you’re heading there, the platform may appear invisible but you’re on it.
Now, make your way to the final boss.
You’ll deal with some of the Pensieve enemies first.
You will then face a much stronger Pensieve Guardian.
During the fight, you have to dodge the laser attacks when prompted, and you can apparently destroy the orb when it’s charging up but I haven’t done it yet.
Try to use stronger spells like Confringo to deal more damage. Levioso and Accio won’t work on big monsters.
After the fight, head to the next room to view the Pensieve.
Speak to Fig and Rackham
Return to the Map Chamber to speak to Fig and Rackham.
Speak with Charles Rookwood
Finally, talk to Rookwood before you leave.
