Jackdaw’s Rest is a main story quest available in Hogwarts Legacy.
Your objective is to find the missing pages where Jackdaw’s body is found.

The required spell for this quest is Expelliarmus.
To begin the quest, head to the Forbidden Forest and follow the compass.
Meet Jackdaw
Press wait at the marked area and Richard Jackdaw will appear. Talk to him.
Follow Jackdaw
Next, just follow him through the Forbidden Forest.
Find the cave where Richard Jackdaw died
Jackdaw will stop at one point. Just use the compass on your mini map and follow it.
You’ll eventually be led to a lake.
Turn left and you’ll see the basin you can whisper the password in.
Defeat the Loyalist Sentinels
Ranrok’s men will appear in an ambush. Defeat all of the Loyalist Sentinels.
After the battle, enter the cave.
Find the missing pages
The main objective in the cave is to find the missing pages.
You’ll come across a locked door.
Cast a regular attack on all three of the objects and the door will open.
A bridge will be formed below.
Follow the path through the door. Use Incendio to melt the spider web.
At the next area, you’ll have to cast magic on the devices / objects again to open the door. There are three of them.
The last one is further towards the left side.
Go through the door. You’ll see a branching pathway. Go to the left and you can climb up.
Take the chest and continue following the path.
You’ll eventually reach the same spot regardless of which route you took.
To proceed ahead, you’ll need to rely on Accio. Use Accio on the floating platform and bring it towards you.
While on the floating platform, you can see routes on the left, front and right sides.
Use Accio on the right-side platform and it will drag you there.
Grab the chest.
Go back to the platform and head to the left-side now.
Melt the spider web with Incendio and take the chest.
You’ll see plenty of spider nests. Destroy them with Incendio or regular casting but avoid getting close.
You’ll eventually reach a dead end.
Go back to the floating platform and now pull yourself to the middle platform / front platform.
Take out the Thornback Shooters along the way.
Get the loot (optional)
This part is optional but you can get some loot.
You’ll see a floating platform that is accessible to you; the one with a purple glow under it.
Use Accio to move around.
Go to the first platform and loot the chest.
Make your way towards the waterfall.
Before reaching it, you’ll see more stuff on your right.
Finally, go to the waterfall area and you’ll get more loot here, in the chest and also in the shelves.
Defeat the spiders
When you’re done looting, head back to the proper route as marked on your map.
You’ll have to deal with a lot of spiders here.
After the first wave, bigger spiders will spawn.
Find the missing pages
Once you’re done with them, go ahead and you’ll see three objects / devices. Cast magic on all of them to open the path.
Go all the way using the bridge and you’ll enter a hall. You’ll see Jackdaw’s body on the ground.
Search the body for the missing pages.
Defeat the Pensieve Sentinels
The Sentinels will start to wake and you’ll need to defeat them all.
Take out the Pensieve Protectors
After the first wave, the Protectors will wake. They’re stronger than the Sentinels. You’ll need to rely on dodging more.
Investigate the traces of ancient magic
Head to the traces of ancient magic and investigate it to open the portal.
Enter the portal and you’ll be led to the Map Chamber.
Speak to the portrait
Talk to the portrait who happen to be the wizard who used ancient magic in the past.
Unlock talents
You’ll now unlock talents which are only available to those with ancient magic abilities.
You can upgrade your spells, improve your core abilities, increase your stealth capabilities and so on.
Exit the Map Chamber
Finally, exit the Map Chamber to end the quest. Unlock the Floo Flames around it for easy travels in the future.
