The Meaning of Life is a main quest available in Final Fantasy XVI.
Your objective is to head back to Eastpool to discover what has happened.

Return to Eastpool
Head back to Eastpool.
You can’t teleport there so you’ll need to run all the way.
Slay the soldiers attacking Eastpool
When you arrive, you’ll discover that the villagers have been killed by the Imperials.
Slay all of the enemies.
There will be tons of them all around town.
You can Clive’s new limit break.
Defeat the Imperial Champion
You will then face the Imperial Champion which is an elite mob.
After the fight, Gav and his team appears at Eastpool.
Return to the hideaway
Head back to the hideaway to meet Cid. The quest ends here.
