Headwind is a main quest available in Final Fantasy XVI. It’s also part of the Eikonic Challenge in the demo.
Your objective is to search Caer Norvent for the Dominant and defeat Benedikta.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Headwind in Final Fantasy 16.
Open the gate
Head all the way through the jail cells and open the gate with Cid’s help.
Explore the area
Follow the path. You’ll meet your first group of enemies.
To proceed further, jump out through the window.
In the next area, you can either go out or go up.
I used the stairs to go up instead. Take out the enemies.
Continue slaying the enemies on the path.
Defeat the Royal Tognvaldr
You’ll meet an elite enemy in the wider area. Defeat him.
After the fight, kick the crate.
You’ll get The Favor of Fire accessory which is for the Scarlet Cyclone ability.
Proceed ahead
Continue ahead and defeat a few waves of enemies.
Keep going until you reach a chapel area.
Here, a cutscene will trigger. Benedikta will then defeat Cid temporarily.
Defeat the winged enemies
You will then need to defeat two winged enemies that were summoned by Benedikta.
Try to focus on killing one first as the surviving enemy will inherit the other’s dead body.
Also, there are some AoE attacks that can be avoided as indicators are shown on the ground prior to the attack.
Head to the rooftop
After the battle, continue to go to the rooftop. Defeat the soldiers along the way.
In certain groups, there are healers. Focus on killing the healers first.
Keep going up and you’ll reach a room with more soldiers and a large table. Take out the healers and then the rest.
Make your way further and you’ll meet another Royal Tognvaldr.
Defeat Benedikta
After reaching the rooftop, you’ll need to defeat Benedikta.
The first phase is pretty easy. She uses aero attacks from far mostly.
For the second phase, she undergoes a transformation.
She’ll fly around a lot and uses ranged attacks. You can use charged magic to hit here from far or just get close to her for melee.
She’ll also have new attacks like tornado. Just stay away from them.
Towards the end, she’ll use claw grip attacks. Dodge them continuously.
After the battle, you’ll get The Will of Fire accessory for the Rising Flames ability.
During the cutscene, Clive absorbs her ability and then learns the Garuda ability set. The quest ends here.
