The Path to Hogwarts is the first main story quest for Hogwarts Legacy.
The objective is to find out what the Portkey leads to and eventually choose a house to join in school.
Here’s a walkthrough & guide of The Path to Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy.
After the whole series of scenes, you’ll eventually find yourself on an island after using the Portkey.
Follow Professor Fig
This is basically the introduction. Just follow Professor Fig.
You’ll then reach a barrier.
Destroy the magical barrier
Use your wand to attack the magical barrier and destroy it.
Continue following Professor Fig outside and he’ll use Reparo to repair the bridge.
Explore the ruins
When you reach the ruins, you should see the quest objective on your map.
Follow it and you’ll reach another crystallized stone.
Investigate the wall by interacting with it.
Wake the goblin
You will then be teleported to a bank. Wake the goblin who is sleeping at the desk.
You’ll then be brought to the particular vault based on the Portkey.
Follow Professor Fig into the vault.
Learn Revelio
You’ll be taught how to use Revelio for the first time.
Just steady your wand and follow the path using your controller’s joystick and press the button prompts.
You’ll know be able to use Revelio to reveal a secret door in the vault room.
Stay close to Professor Fig
In the dark room, stay close to Professor Fig.
Interact with the magic you see on the floor.
Determine how to proceed
You will now see a reflection on the floor.
Use Revelio to reveal the knight.
Learn Lumos
You will learn a second skill called Lumos which basically allows your wand to act as a light source.
Like before, you have to follow the path and press the button prompts.
Discover the statue’s secret
Use Lumos.
Now, just get the reflection of the statue to face you using Lumos. Let it align until the statue comes to life.
Defeat the guardians
A group of statues will appear.
Use Protego mid-fight to protect yourself against the attacks.
You can also use your regular wand attacks against the guardians.
Find Professor Fig
After the fight, Professor Fig disappears.
Use Lumos.
Follow the wisps of magic’s direction.
You’ll eventually reach another glow. Interact with it.
Activate the statues
Like before, use Lumos to align the reflections of the statues to activate them.
Defeat all of the statues using your wand spells and Protego to block attacks.
Find Professor Fig
Continue to find Professor Fig. Use Lumos and follow the wisps of magic.
You’ll reach a structure. Interact with the glow on the floor.
Enter through the magic wall. Go to the basin and investigate.
You’ll then reunite with Professor Fig. He will then show you the memories behind this place.
Not long after, you’ll be introduced to the villain Ranrok who is a goblin.
Which house to choose
After all of the cutscenes, you’ll eventually reach Hogwarts for the Sorting ceremony.
The dialogue “I can’t wait to start classes” or “I can’t wait to explore” doesn’t seem to matter.
You will then have to choose between daring, curiosity, loyalty and ambition. The hat will recommend a house according to which character trait you chose; however, it’s not final.
You will eventually be allowed to choose between Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.
The initial dialogue doesn’t matter probably. Whichever you choose is up to you.
The house you choose affects which common room you get and it’s likely you can’t explore other houses’ common rooms (but I’m not certain).
The quest ends here.
