Sunny Sands is one of those islands in the map that does not contain a story, and is purely there for material-hunting.
Once you’re done with Blossom Bay, Soggy Skerry and other islands, you may want to unlock infinite supplies of other ingredients.
Here’s a walkthrough of Sunny Sands in Dragon Quest Builders 2.
To unlock Sunny Sands, you probably have to pay about 500 gratitude points.
Like usual, from the dock, you have to get to the actual island. You can glide with your windbraker.
What to do in Sunny Sands
As usual, your aim is to complete two sets of checklists. Each set will grant you an infinite supply of an ingredient.
For Sunny Sands, you can get an infinite supply of both coal and iron.
To tick off items on the list, just go to the item and press “check”.
You will find cats here. They’re also part of the item list.
You need to sneak behind them by lightly holding your movement button. Press “stroke” when near.
They will become your friend and join you at your island, and it also ticks off an item on the checklist.
Apart from looking for ingredients, you can recruit one person back to your island. Get to the Builderdom right at the beginning of the island.
Talk to this guy and he’ll join your base.
You can also fight strong monsters like this Golem. He may join you at the base if you defeat him and give him monster munchies.
Similarly, you can defeat this super-strong monster as well and get a decorative item.
Where to find the ores
You’ll notice you need to find plenty of ores / minerals on the checklist.
Look for those underground openings. Get in and you’ll be able to proceed downwards without breaking any walls.
If you do need to break walls, then it’s probably not the right place.
As you go down further, you’ll find the rarer ores.
As for the mushrooms, you need to check both the head and the stock.
You’ll find diamonds and the other rare materials at the lowest part of the cave.
Another thing to remember is that you need to get to the top of the cactus and the tree, if you wish to check the item off the list.
You can build blocks up and ‘check’ the tree.
Once you’ve completed the checklists, you will unlock infinite amounts of coal and iron as shown in the images below.
And that’s all on Sunny Sands in DQ Builders 2.
