The Course of True Love is a series of missions given by Beau Gray, one of the Gray family members in Rhodes.
Your role, among others, involves delivering messages or items between him and a lady who happens to be a Braithwaite.
Here’s a walkthrough of The Course of True Love in RDR 2.
The Course of True Love – I
This mission is activated after the previous mission of The New South. Dutch asked you to investigate more about the Grays at Caliga Hall.
I’m not sure if you should get spotted or not, but it seems to be okay. Go to the side of the big building and you will see a stranger standing there.
Talk to him and he will ask you to look for Beau Gray, who is just nearby.
The Course of True Love – II
Beau Gray is pretty close to where you last talked to the stranger. Just follow the location shown in the map below.
You should see this small house with a lighted front. There’s a guy standing in front but he’s not Beau Gray.
Go to the back of that house and you will find Beau. Talk to him to start the second part of this mission.
He will then ask you to help deliver a letter plus an item to Penelope Braithwaite. They can’t be seen together since their families have been at war for a long time.
Send a letter to Penelope Braithwaite
The Braithwaites are located in the yellow area shown in the map below.
You will see a rather big mansion with vast fields.
Don’t get spotted by the guards. The guards are marked as red blips on the radar.
I tried both left and right, and I think the left side is easier. Ride your horse to the left side without getting spotted, so you need to keep your distance.
Then, go on foot to find Penelope. She’s located somewhere behind the mansion, at the lake area.
You can swim through the lake to avoid detection but try not to swim a long distance, because your stamina is limited and you can’t replenish it when you’re in water.
Sneak past the guards and talk to Penelope. She will give you a letter and you have to hand it to Beau Gray.
After the cutscene, leave the area without getting spotted. The area is marked as red and the mission completes after you leave the circle of red on the map.
If you wish to get all objectives checked, you need to:
- Reach Penelope without getting spotted
- Complete within 3 minutes
The Course of True Love – III
For the third part of the mission, you need to meet Beau Gray again.
This time you have to meet him in Caliga Hall at the stable.
Talk to him and pass the letter by Penelope to him.
Find Penelope
Now you have to follow Beau Gray to find Penelope who is joining a women’s rights protest.
They’re near the town of Rhodes as they plan to take the wagon into town protesting on women’s rights.
You have to drive the wagon into town.
Stop the wagon near the bank in town and you’re done. Just watch the cutscene first.
After the scene, follow Beau Gray on your horse and you’re pretty much done.
The mission completes after Beau stops and pays you. The only objective is to complete it within 4 minutes 15 seconds.
