Hostile Takeover: Borderlands 3 Walkthrough And Guide

Hostile Takeover is a main mission in Borderlands 3 that starts right after you land.

Your task is to help Atlas defend against the Maliwan and Calypso forces.

Here’s a walkthrough of Hostile Takeover in Borderlands 3.

This mission is for level 12 and above.

Talk to Ellie

The first objective is to talk to Ellie.

Next, head to the Meridian Outskirts.

Answer distress call

After coming down from the pod, you will reach the Meridian Outskirts.

Keep moving ahead.

Your objective is to answer the distress call. The location is provided in the map.

Along the way, you’ll need to deal with the creatures and the Maliwan forces.

Talk to Lorelei

Once you reach the distress call area, you will be introduced to Lorelei, the commander of the Atlas forces.

Follow her all the way to the next area. She’ll stop at a checkpoint. You can buy items here.

Once you’re ready, talk to her again.

Grab a vehicle

Use Catch-A-Ride to spawn a vehicle and follow Lorelei’s cyclone vehicle.

Destroy a hover wheel vehicle

You guys will be attacked by some enemies. Destroy one of the hover wheels.

Grab the loot dropped from the vehicle.

Follow Lorelei

After taking the device, continue following Lorelei to the shelter.

Talk to her again when she stops walking. She’ll tell you her strategy.

Defend the civilians

Next, go to the location on the map and help defend the civilians.

The Maliwan forces will attack. Kill them all.

Keep clearing the area and continue to do so when you reach the outdoor section.

Liberate Watershed Base

The next main objective is to liberate Watershed Base.

Follow Lorelei to Meridian Metroplex.

Here, you’ll be greeted with more enemies.

Together with Lorelei, take out all the enemy forces.

Open base door

Finally, you’ll reach the base door. Open it using the controls on the side.

After opening the door, kill all of the enemy forces hiding inside. There will be Maliwan pyros who are tougher than usual with more health and shield.

Contact Rhys

Once the area is secure, contact Rhys using the machine in the middle.

Talk to Lorelei again.

Get a cyclone

Use the Catch-A-Ride to spawn a cyclone vehicle.

Find Atlas operative

Head towards the location shown in the map below.

You will need to kill all of the enemies standing in your way.

There’ll be plenty of enemies in your way.

Secure the area and walk towards the end of the area. You will meet the Atlas operative here named Zer0.

Secure Maliwan weapons depot

The next big objective is to secure the weapons depot.

Once again, this place is filled with highly armored enemies.

Lower security field

Once the place is secure, go to the top and get rid of the security field.

Defeat Maliwan counterattack

The Maliwans will appear again to counterattack. Take them all out.

Be careful of the heavily armored enemies as they are really hard to kill.

Loot weapons depot

Next, head into the weapons depot to get some items.

There’ll be plenty of rare loot to grab in here.

Also, you need to help Zer0 find his Holoblade Upgrade. It’s in one of the chests.

Meet Zer0 at Halcyon Spaceport

After looting what you need, go to Halcyon Spaceport. The location is shown in the map.

Defeat Gigamind (boss)

Be prepared before entering as you will face Gigamind on your own.

This is the boss for this area.

Gigamind isn’t too difficult to deal with but his minions are really annoying. Just keep sprinting around to avoid getting shot at, while shooting at Gigamind.

The minions will all disappear after Gigamind is dead.
