In The Shadow Of Time is a relationship quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
Your objective is to meet Sebastian at the catacomb and get the relic.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of In the Shadow of Time in Hogwarts Legacy.
The suggested level is 17.
To begin the quest, head to the catacomb at Feldcroft. It’s at the southwest area of the map as shown below.
You’ll see him waiting there. Talk to him.
Enter the catacomb
Enter the Feldcroft Catacomb.
Find the relic
The main objective is to find the relic. You’ll need to deal with spiders a lot.
In this catacomb, you’ll also rely on Accio a lot to pull handles of drawers to get loot or other necessary stuff.
In the next area, you’ll see two routes.
The first route is through the breakable door. Use Accio or Depulso to open.
You’ll come across more spiders here and some loot.
Now, return to the previous area and use the second route which is the main route.
You will then come across a bigger room.
Collect the student journal entry to read.
Get the loot (optional)
Before going through the barricade, you can collect some loot first.
You’ll see a path that is blocked by rocks. Blast it open and go through using Confringo or some other spell.
Then, you’ll see a door on the opposite end with no bridge.
If you go down, you’ll see plenty of vines. Use Lumos to shoo them away.
Then, use a fire spell on the wood to let it burn and stop the vine from moving.
You will then need to pull the handles all around the room to get all the skeletal remains.
Then, use Accio and drag the skeletal remains to form a bridge.
You’ll form one side first. For the other half, use Accio again.
After crossing the bridge, pull the handle to open the gate.
You’ll eventually reach the same room where the barricade is.
Find a way through the barricade
The same concept as before. To open the barricade, you need to drag all the skeletons / skeletal remains in the room to the door.
There are more skeletal remains on the room just beside it. Blast the door open and get the skeletons.
Place them all around the barricade and the door will open.
Learn the Imperius Curse
You now have an option to either learn the Imperius Curse or not learn it.
I chose to learn Imperio of course.
Find the relic
In the next area, you’ll see two paths. You can go to the spider web path first if you wish to loot all kinds of stuff. There’s also a big chest inside.
Once you’re done, go to the path blocked by the breakable door. Use Accio or Depulso.
In this room, you’ll see the same barricade as before so you need skeletal remains.
Use Revelio and you’ll see skeletal remains behind a few walls.
To open those walls, you need to follow the symbols. You will see each wall has two symbols (top and bottom).
There are also four handles in the room, each with their own symbol. To open a particular wall, pull the handles with the correct symbols, top to bottom.
Do the same thing until you release all the skeletons.
Use Accio to drag the skeletons to the barricade and open the door.
Defeat the spiders
In the next room, you have to defeat the spiders.
Find the relic
Finally, go to the table and collect The Relic’s Note and the relic.
Talk to Sebastian after.
If you tell Sebastian to leave the relic alone, he’ll still insist. Ominis however will appreciate that you said that to him.
Persuade Ominis
You’ll then need to persuade Ominis who has been following behind.
I chose “Let’s talk to Sebastian” but in the end Ominis agrees to let Sebastian leave with the relic.
Return to Feldcroft
Exit the catacomb and head back to Feldcroft.
Defend Feldcroft
When you arrive, you’ll see Ranrok’s Loyalists there. Take them out.
During the cutscene, Sebastian uses an Unforgivable Curse to save Anne but his uncle Solomon asks him to stay away for using Dark Arts.
I told Sebastian “it may have been the wrong choice” but he won’t seem affected by it.
Talk to Solomon
You will then need to talk to Solomon about it.
I chose “Sebastian saved his sister” and Solomon was definitely displeased about it.
