The Hunter And The Hunted is a main quest available in Final Fantasy XVI.
Your objective is to look for Gav who is last spotted in Kingsfall.
Here’s a walkthrough of The Hunter And The Hunted in Final Fantasy 16.
Follow the path
As soon as the quest begins, just follow the linear path. There’ll be Black Widows at first.
Keep going and you’ll face a Minotaur.
After defeating the Minotaur, you should get a Minotaur Mane crafting material.
Proceed ahead and defeat the enemies along the way.
Defeat the Imperials
You’ll eventually spot Gav who is running away from Imperials.
Slay all of the Imperials here.
Defeat the Knight of the Dying Sun
After the first wave of enemies, the Knight of the Dying Sun appears with his dragon.
Cid also shows up and he’ll deal with the dragon. You just need to kill the Knight.
This Knight has more abilities and has high HP. Towards the end, it’ll do a Mirage Dive skill which creates continuous diving attacks. Cid will deal with it eventually.
After the battle, you’ll see a cutscene where Gav is saved.
Return to the hideaway
Head back to Cid’s Hideaway.
Visit the infirmary
After returning, you’ll be informed that Jill has woken up. Head to the infirmary.
You’ll see them conversing during the cutscene.
Speak with Charon
Next, talk to Charon.
Speak with Gav
Say goodbye to Gav as well.
Journey into Rosaria via Three Reeds
Together with Jill, head back to Rosaria via the Three Reeds path.
The quest ends here.
