Fanning Embers is a main quest available in Final Fantasy XVI.
Your objective is to escape the Greatwood alive as you’ll encounter many enemies.
Here’s a walkthrough of Fanning Embers in Final Fantasy 16.
Explore Greatwood
Together with Cid and Torgal, you have to explore Greatwood. The path is linear.
You’ll encounter many enemies in the area like Worgens.
Apart from Worgens, you’ll face Vampire Thorns as well.
Slay the dragon
After some time, you’ll face a Dragon Aevis enemy. This one should be an easy fight.
The game will also let you know that you can rely on Torgal’s instinct to point you to the right direction.
Defeat more enemies
Keep going and you’ll face more small mobs.
Defeat Fafnir
Your first mini boss will arrive in the most obvious area. You’ll have to defeat Fafnir.
This creature uses rolling attacks, tail swipes and regular claw attacks.
After defeating Fafnir, continue ahead. You’ll see some Hornets now.
Continue to fight your way through Greatwood.
After some time, you’ll see a cutscene and Benedikta is here again.
Defeat the Midnight Raven
You’ll then need to defeat the Midnight Raven and the other soldiers from Waloed.
During the fight, you’ll be introduced to cinematic clashes where you just need to spam the attack button when prompted.
Cross into Orabelle Downs
After defeating the Waloed forces, head to Orabelle Downs. Use the world map to fast travel.
The quest ends when you arrive.
You’ll also be introduced to Obelisks. You can attune to these Obelisks and later be able to fast travel to them.
