Comes Now The Power is a main story quest in Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds.

Your task is to go to choose whether to divert power from Edgewater or the Botanical Lab.

Here’s a walkthrough of Comes Now The Power in The Outer Worlds.

Speak to Parvati

This main quest begins after speaking to Reed Tobson. You will be introduced to Parvati.

Ask for her assistance and she’ll join you as your first companion in the game.

Also, talk to her once you’re outside of Reed’s office.

Optional – speak to the vicar

After talking to Parvati, she’ll ask you to consult the vicar. He’s in the chapel near the Saltuna Cannery.

The location is shown below, marked by the player location.

He’s inside the chapel at his desk.

Go to the Botanical Lab

Next, head to the Botanical Lab which is north or northwest of Edgewater to deliver Reed’s message.

Once you’re here, you should see a clear signage outside. You should meet Grace Romero just outside the entrance. She’ll have a side quest for you.

Next, enter the area and find Adelaide among the plants inside the main building.

Deliver Reed’s message to Adelaide and tell her about the power diversion plan.

She’ll ask you to decide what is right, to divert power to the Botanical Lab or to the cannery of Edgewater.

Go to the Geothermal Power Plant

Next, head to the power plant just south of the Botanical Lab.

You won’t miss it. you’ll see the flames coming up from the pipes.

Find the power plant terminal

You will see an electric barrier at the entrance. Go towards the right and you’ll find a side entrance.

Get rid of the mechanical drones inside.

Head towards the main door.

Once you’re in, go towards the right side.

You will find the terminal at the end of the room. Use the terminal to redirect power, but it will fail. You’ll then need to activate 3 electrical track switches.

Activate 3 switches

Next, go back to the entrance. Look for the path going downwards.

Keep going until you reach a door that’s locked.

Enter the small room beside and use the terminal to unlock the door.

Continue going until you reach the first switch.

After flipping the 1st switch, continue following the route. There’ll be more drones and sentries inside.

Go until you reach the heating chamber.

There’s an optional objective if you go all the way down and talk to the man.

Otherwise, just head to the red door.

Keep going until you reach an area blocked by hot steam.

Use the terminal to shut off the steam.

Once the steam is gone, go upstairs. There’s another electrical switch here.

Continue heading upstairs and you’ll find the last electrical switch.

Now, return to the terminal at the entrance.

Edgewater or Botanical Lab

You have to choose between Edgewater and Botanical Lab. We only tried diverting power to Edgewater.

If you divert power to the Botanical Lab, you’ll be going against Reed. This will jeopardize your other quests with Edgewater.

Go to the Botanical Lab

If you had chosen to divert the power to Edgewater, head towards the Botanical Lab to convince Adelaide.

Speak to Adelaide again. This time, convince her to join Reed at Edgewater.

She’ll refuse to join unless you kill Reed, but you can convince her followers.

Talk to Romero and Thomas

We chose to convince Adelaide’s followers to join Edgewater instead of killing Reed. Killing Reed may result in Parvati leaving you (unless you can persuade otherwise).

Go to the compound of the Botanical Lab and speak to Thomas and Romero.

They will only join you if you complete the following side quests:
