The Liberator is a side quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which starts after the quest He Who Stops.
Your task is to bring a captain that you freed from captivity to his ship.
Here’s a short walkthrough of The Liberator in AC Odyssey.
This quest activates right after you save the captives as part of the location objectives. He will then ask for your help to bring him to his ship.
Carry the captain to his ship
The exact location of the ship is shown in the screenshot below.
Now, before you leave, you may want to clear the objectives. There are five treasure loots scattered around. I only found three of them though.
There’s a residence on the mountain with a chest or two to loot.
Once you’re done with the objectives, carry him to the ship using Phobos the horse. It’s much faster this way.
You have to place him on the horse first and only mount later. Don’t make the mistake I did by fast travelling to my Adrestia which was close to the ship’s location.
You will pretty much leave him behind and you have to come all the way back to take him.
So yeah, the horse is the fastest way for me.
Free the Athenian crew
Once you’re there, there’ll be a new objective of saving his crew. They are guarded by Spartan soldiers.
You can of course cut open the cages and the soldiers will come out to fight.
There are only six Spartan soldiers so it’s pretty easy to get rid of all of them.
The Athenian and Spartan soldiers will also fight each other as you can see in the screen below.
After you’re done rescuing all of them, talk to the captain again.
Return to Kleon
Once it’s all over, go back to Kleon to report about his messenger’s death and what transpired after.
He will then reward you with a helmet and some drachmae for your troubles.
And that’s it. Hopefully this walkthrough has been useful for you.
