A Venomous Encounter is a quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that stems from Perikles of Athens.
After you’re done with the main quest Welcome To Athens, Perikles will assign three side quests to you.
Here’s a short walkthrough of the quest A Venomous Encounter in AC Odyssey.
Out of all the three side quests, this is the toughest. It’s recommended for those level 17 and above.
That said, you can still complete it as a level 15 if you play the hit and run style against the Poisoner.
Locate Metiochos’ Estate
The first objective of this quest is to locate Metiochos’ estate. The exact location is as shown in the screenshot below.
As you approach the location, you will hear his voice as well.
You will notice that none of the doors outside the estate are open. You need to climb over the roof to get into the compound.
Metiochos is trapped in the common area surrounded by snakes.
You have to kill a couple of snakes in the room before you can talk to Metiochos.
After talking to Metiochos, you have to investigate the house of the alleged attackers.
Investigate the attackers’ home
The exact location of the house is marked as the quest symbol in the screenshot below.
Look for clues all around the house. There are also poisonous snakes right inside the house.
Just interact with the clues represented by the magnifying glass symbol.

Once you’ve finished gathering clues, the attackers come home.
You will then enter into a conversation with them, where you get the option to kill the attacker or to deal with it peacefully.
He will then tell you that the poison came from the snake dealer.
Locate the snake dealer and kill him
Next up, go to the snake dealer and kill him. The exact location is marked by the quest symbol in the screenshot below and he’s right outside of the city.
The Poisoner (level 17) is the snake dealer and he is quite tough to deal with. There are also snakes all around the camp site that may spawn right behind you.
Be quick enough to dodge his poison attacks (both melee and ranged). The fight may take awhile since he has quite a high HP.
Once you’ve killed him, you should get a level 17 poison dagger as a loot, among other things.
Return to Metiochos’ Estate
Get back to Metiochos to report the situation and you’re done.
That’s it. Your reward is just a measly amount of money.
