Sushi Zanmai @ The Shore Malacca

Edited: Sushi Zanmai has been closed for a few years at The Shore, Melaka.

Hey guys, today I’ll be sharing some photos and thoughts on Sushi Zanmai @ The Shore Malacca. It’s a Japanese restaurant chain that is all over Malaysia, more prominently in Kuala Lumpur.

I’m guessing Pasta Zanmai and Ozen Zanmai are related to Sushi Zanmai as well. Most of you should have tried it by now so I won’t have to describe it too much.

There’s only one Sushi Zanmai branch in Melaka and it’s located at The Shore, which is connected to Swiss Garden Hotel.

Without further ado, here are some of the photos I took of the food that night.

sushi zanmai the shore — This is their unagi. We ordered the small portion and it was really small! No kidding there. I could fit all of that into my mouth.

sushi zanmai the shore melaka — They had a promotion that night and this was their cheese baked rice. It had a lot of mushrooms in it.

sushi zanmai melaka — This is part of their soba dish. The noodles are served cold as intended.

tempura sushi zanmai melaka — This tempura comes with the soba noodles.

sushi zanmai melaka the shore — Prepping the sauce for the soba noodles. Since the noodles have no taste, it has to be eaten with the sauce which is salty.

sushi zanmai melaka chicken — Chicken karaage, i.e. deep fried chicken.

the shore sushi zanmai melaka — Yakiudon I think. It’s basically fried udon. It was not bad.

I patronize Sushi Zanmai quite regularly as their food is quite decent and definitely better than some of the Japanese restaurants in Melaka. The crowd here isn’t that bad so you won’t have to wait too long. Weekends are much more crowded of course.

Overall, the food was pretty good and as expected of a Sushi Zanmai branch.
