Deep Dive is a story mission in Far Cry: New Dawn involving Selene.
Your task is to help her retrieve her field kit filled with roots and other medicinal stuff.
Here’s a walkthrough of Deep Dive in Far Cry New Dawn.
This mission has a difficulty level of 1 as well.
Look for Selene
The first thing you have to do is to look for Selene. Her location is shown in the map.
Set a waypoint and just go there. You’ll be required to climb up a more hilly area.
The waypoint may not be that accurate. You have to look around the area and you will find Selene standing near a circular hole on the ground.
It’s like a huge abandoned underground facility. Now it’s just submerged with water.
Talk to Selene to start the mission. She will tell you that she dropped her field kit. You can’t get there by jumping directly.
Retrieve the field kit
Jump down straight to the bottom and you’ll hit the water.
You will find yourself submerged.
Find a way out
Now, you need to find your way out. This mission requires getting yourself higher and higher up to finally reach her field kit.
Climb up the water into a tunnel-like room.
In order to find a way out, you need to submerge this place in water.
At the end of the room, there’s a pressure tank.
Open the valve.
The water will then flow out continuously.
Escape the rising water
Look for an exit before the rising water drowns you.
Raise the water level
After you’ve gotten a level higher, your aim is still the same. You have to raise the water level in order to go up.
Just follow the road and the yellow symbol on your screen.
There’s also a safe box here and you can get Titanium if you have the lockpick perk.
You will know you’re in the right way if you see stairs heading into the water.
Dive into the water and proceed forward.
Try not to drown. If you’re gasping for air, try to find a place you can surface to get some air.
Keep swimming until you see a ladder going up. The image below shows how the ladder looks like after climbing up.
Now, you have to turn the valve.
Once you’ve done that, use a gun and shoot the water pressure gauge in front of you. It will burst and it creates a new pathway.
You will now reach a room with about four different valves.
At one of the walls, you should find this Cult Note. It says that you should open valves that flow into the tank.
Which valves to open?
Look at the huge pressure tank which is connected to all four or five pipes.
There are arrows written near the pressure tank. Open the valves on pipes that lead directly into the tank if you follow the arrows.
Close the valves on pipes where the arrows are pointing away from the tank.
The water will start flowing out quickly.
Escape the rising water
Now, get to the room after the pressure tank area. Wait for the water to rise and escape over the obstacles.
Keep swimming forward. The destination is pretty far and you may run out of breath. You need to resurface to get some air first.
Then, continue on your journey towards the exit.
You should reach another area with a water pressure gauge. Shoot at it and it will create a new doorway.
Go straight and you will reach the outside.
Now, climb up to the next level using the ladder.
Just go ahead as usual. Loot anything you can find.
Raise the water level again
You will then be introduced to snakes. Kill the snake first.
There’s another safe box here that gives you Titanium.
You should also meet a pretty strong animal called the Wolverine. It took me many shotgun rounds to kill it.
Now, head towards the stairs going downwards.
There may be more snakes on the way down.
You will also be introduced to a crocodile.
There’s a crocodile in the water. Instead of swimming straight to the next platform, you can jump on the closest platform beside the stairs.
Use your shotgun or pistol and kill it.
Swim to the next area.
Towards the end, you should see another valve. Turn the valve and the water level will rise rapidly.
Escape the rising water
This part is quite a rush as you have to escape the area. Get back where you came from, i.e. from the stairs.
Keep heading up the stairs although you’re submerged.
Keep following the way and you’ll finally be outside again.
Retrieve the field kit
You will finally be able to reach the field kit. Grab the kit.
Talk to Selene
You can now use the ladder to climb out of the hole.
Talk to her to complete the mission.
