Pokemon Let’s Go has many routes in the game, especially in between big cities like Cerulean and Viridian.
Here’s a short walkthrough and guide on Route 2 in Pokemon Let’s Go.
There are also some Pokemon and items that are available to be obtained here, especially one that’s crucial for the story.
Route 2 is accessible via many other routes, including the Diglett Cave.
Items available
There are some items you can pick up in Route 2 itself.
Here’s a short list on some of the items that are available:
- Great Balls
- Super Potion
- Leaf Stone (for leveling leaf-type Pokemon)

Here are some of the Pokemon I encountered in Route 2. It may be far from complete. This is Eevee’s version to be exact.

Point of interest
One of the main things about Route 2 is that you can learn a certain skill to progress the story.
After defeating Lt. Surge for the Thunder Badge (3rd gym), you may have to pass through the Rock Tunnel.
In order to do so, you need to get the Light Up skill. Talk to Professor Oak’s assistant at a house.
He will then teach Eevee or Pikachu the technique of Light Up, which enables you to see in the dark.
After getting out of the house, you will meet your rival.
He will offer to take you to the entrance of the Rock Tunnel.
You can reject if you don’t feel like going yet.
