Do Not Seek Absolution is a mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 relating to Edith Downes.
There are two parts to this mission, one involve rescuing the boy and another is getting them out of town.
Here’s a walkthrough of Do Not Seek Absolution in RDR 2.
Do Not Seek Absolution – 1
To start the first mission, go to the town of Annesburg and find Edith Downes. This mission is only available after you spotted her in a previous mission (That’s Murfree Country).
Her exact location is shown in the map below.
You will find her standing under the building or tracks.
Talk to her and she’ll tell you that her son is working at the mine.
Find Archie Downes
Go to the mine shown in the map below.
You will see a couple of guys in front of the mine’s entrance.
Intervene in the bullying of Archie Downes.
The foreman and another guy will then fight with you. Keep hitting him but don’t kill him using your gun or you’ll fail the mission.
Knock him down and defeat the other guy as well.
The mission completes after you’re done fighting.
To get a perfect score, you need to complete the mission within 1 minute 20 seconds.
Do Not Seek Absolution – 2
For the second part of the mission, talk to Edith Downes at her house. Your aim is to ensure that they have left town.
You will find Archie at the sidewalk. Talk to him to begin the mission.
He will then tell you that his mother went with some guy to a bridge.
Find Edith Downes
Go towards the yellow area marked on the map as shown below. You will find a bridge there.
Use your eagle eye to check for tracks. Follow the track to Edith Downes.
You will find her with another guy.
Talk to the man and chase him away. Persuade Edith to get back to town and pack up her things to leave.
Return to her house
Take her with you and get back to Annesburg town.
Arthur will then give them some money for them to leave. The mission completes here.
If you wish to get a perfect score, you need to find Edith Downes within 1 minute 10 seconds.
