Monger Down is one of the main quests in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and it starts after the Port of Lawlessness quest.
Your role is simple, i.e. to kill the Monger once and for all.
Here’s a brief walkthrough of Monger Down in AC Odyssey.
This quest is recommended for level 23 and above, or whatever level your character is right now.
Talk to Anthousa
The first objective is to talk to Anthousa to discuss how to get rid of the Monger.
Brasidas in the previous quest suggested the Sacred Cave.
Anthousa on the other hand suggested doing it in the theater for everyone to see. Personally, I chose the Sacred Cave option.
Locate the Sacred Cave
If you chose the same option as I did, you need to first locate the Sacred Cave.
It’s actually right in the city, and you can see the exact location in the screenshot below.
The cave also has its own objectives, including finding one Ainigmata Ostraka and a treasure chest.
As you can see in the image below, this is the Ainigmata Ostraka. Its location is quite obvious and you probably won’t miss it.
Once you’re in the cave, at the quest marker, a cutscene should appear.
Kill the Monger
During the cutscene, you will learn that the Monger is also a cultist of Kosmos and had encountered Myrrine in the past.
Your objective now is to kill the Monger and his subordinates. There are quite a number of them inside the cave.
Once you’ve reduced the Monger’s HP to zero, another cutscene will activate. Before you can kill him, Anthousa walks in saying that you should execute him in public.
You can choose to either kill him there or follow Anthousa’s suggestion.
Personally, I chose to let her take him to the theater for execution.
There will be a cutscene where he is publicly executed by the women.
Once the execution is over, your character will have a dialogue with Anthousa about Myrrine. You can see the questions in the screen below.
After the dialogue, the Monger Down quest completes, and also the cultist has been defeated.
You will get a cultist clue, an artifact fragment and a cool legendary helmet.
