Last updated on October 3, 2020 by A L

Leaf type or grass type Pokemon are highly effective against rock, water and ground type Pokemon. They definitely come in handy during battles, so you should have at least one strong grass Pokemon in your deck or team.

Here are some of the best leaf type Pokemon across all generations.

It’s hard to pick the top ten, so do leave your comments below if you think other Pokemon should have been inside the list.

1. Venusaur

leaf pokemon

Venusaur is a fan favorite from the 1st generation and is the evolved form of Ivysaur. This grass and poison type Pokemon can also mega evolve into Mega Venusaur, which is one of the best leaf type Pokemon.

This Pokemon uses the flowers on its back to capture the rays from the sun. It converts the rays into energy which it can use. For instance, Venusaur can absorb energy and unleash the Solar Beam attack. It is also said to be able to manipulate nature.

Venusaur has decent overall base stats, with special attack and special defense as its strongest points. However, when it mega evolves, its stats improve much more.

2. Celebi

grass type pokemon

Next on the list is a legendary psychic and grass type Pokemon from the 2nd generation. Celebi is considered to be a guardian of the Ilex Forest and is a mythical Pokemon.

It has the nickname “Voice of the Forest” and has superior abilities like time travel and can exist in different times. It is also said to be able to resurrect Pokemon and plants back to life. Celebi is seen as a Pokemon of peace, which symbolizes a bright future as long as it’s around.
