Sudden and New is a main quest in the Atlantis DLC of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Your task is to meet Hekate in Pheraia’s Retreat and help her retrieve a document.
Here’s a walkthrough of Sudden and New in AC Odyssey.
This quest is recommended for level 55 and above, but it depends on your own level.
Meet Hekate
You have to first meet Hekate in Pheraia’s Retreat. The exact location of the meeting place is shown in the map below, marked by the quest symbol.
When you approach the area, a cutscene will load. You will see Persephone having a talk with Hekate.
Alexios will then talk to Hekate.
She will ask him to bring a document from Persephone’s Sanctuary using her key.
Find and reach Persephone’s sanctuary
To get to the sanctuary, go to the location shown in the map below.
As you get closer, use Ikaros to pinpoint the exact location.
Jump down and you’ll reach the Gaia’s Underpass. Enter the place.
It’s dark inside so you may want to use a torch. You should come across a dead end but you can break through the wood and rocks here (image below).
Keep going and you’ll reach these wooden walls with an overgrowth.
Pull the two shelves out to open a new pathway.
Go through the new pathway and keep walking.
You will come across stairs on your left and also a statue in front of you with a breakable wall.
Get the Keeper’s Insights (different quest)
You also need to get the Keeper’s Insights for another quest – A Growing Perception. You should maybe get to the stele first.
Break the wall.
You will reach an area with three branching pathways. Each way has shelves that require moving.
Your aim is to go through the middle pathway. But to do so, you need to move the shelves blocking on the left and right side.
Go to the right side of the room first and start moving the shelves out.
Next, get to the left side and do the same thing.
Open a pathway for the shelf in the middle pathway to go through.
Once you’ve cleared both left and right sides, you should be able to push the big structure / shelf in the middle pathway all the way to the next area.
After reaching the next area, there are treasure to loot.
Continue on your way and you’ll reach the Dead Heroes Haven.
Walk until you find this tablet and interact with it.
Continue looking for the Locksmith’s Journal
After finding the Keeper’s Insights, get back to this quest’s objective. Find the journal / document for Hekate.
Go back all the way to the statue.
If you’re facing the statue’s front, go towards your left and you will see some stairs.
Follow the stairs and keep going until you reach this area filled with shelves blocking your way.
There’s a crack on the left side that you can utilize to arrange the shelves.
Keep moving the shelves until there’s a way to get to the next side.
After passing through the shelves, keep going and you’ll reach this door to Persephone’s sanctuary.
Go through the door and at the end of the room, you’ll find the document. Interact with it.
In the same room, there are some quest items you can loot, such as this letter from Persephone’s Sanctuary.
Return to Hekate
Now, go back to Hekate at Pheraia’s Retreat. Her exact location is shown below.
Talk to her and the quest completes here.
