If you’re new to Classic World of Warcraft (WoW), you may find yourself not knowing how to equip a bow or a gun if you use an orc warrior.
Luckily, most players are helpful in Classic that they’ll tell you most things. Otherwise, you can check out plenty of guides online.
Here’s how you can equip a ranged weapon (e.g. gun) for your melee class in WoW Classic.
Find a weapon master
If you’re an orc warrior or some other melee class, you need to find a weapon master to be able to wield a ranged weapon.
You can find weapon masters in capitals, but each weapon master can only teach you several weapons.
If you’re looking for a gun weapon master, you need to go to places like Thunder Bluff. Orgrimmar doesn’t have a gun master.
There are guides online where you can find weapon masters for each weapon.
Pay for the skill
As an example, if you’re looking to wield a gun, go to Thunder Bluff and speak to the weapon master Ansekhwa.
His exact location is shown in the map below, marked by the player location.
You will see him beside the weapons merchant.
Talk to him and you can learn maces, guns and staves. As for guns, you need to pay 10 silver to learn the skill.
Once you have level 1 gun skill, you can start leveling the skill by using rifles and other guns. Bullets have to be equipped separately in the mini slot beside the gun slot.
And that’s a gist of how you can use ranged weapons for melee classes in Classic WoW.
