Far Cry New Dawn: How To Unlock Fast Travel

Last updated on December 24, 2019 by Alvin L

Far Cry New Dawn features an open world map that requires a lot of driving or walking.

After some time, you just wish you could skip all of that walking and fast travel to the location.

Here’s how you can unlock fast travel in Far Cry: New Dawn.

You need Expedition Levels 1 & 2

First of all, you need to get Expedition to level 2 to unlock the most potential in fast travels. Level 1 will give you fast travels to liberated outposts, but they are limited.

Level 2 is the best as you can fast travel to most locations, specifically places with materials to collect (e.g. screws).

The image below shows how each location looks like.

You can level it either inside the Prosperity home base by going to the notice board, or by using the Home Base menu wherever you are in the map.

In order to get it to level 2, you need to have enough Ethanol. Ethanol is one of the most scarce resources in the game and you need it to upgrade every facility or craft the best weapons.

How to get Ethanol

There are various ways to get Ethanol in Far Cry New Dawn, but the best way is by liberating outposts.

You will find many outposts throughout the whole map. These outposts start from level 1 and can probably go up to level 3.

To liberate an outpost, you need to kill every Highwaymen inside it, and before you do that, you should try to disable all of the alarms.

The higher the level of an outpost, the more ethanol you will get upon liberating it.

Here’s a guide on how to liberate outposts and scavenge for Ethanol.

Other ways to get Ethanol

Apart from liberating and scavenging outposts, you can also:

  • Get it from supply drops coming from airplanes. There is always at least one Highwayman trying to snatch the supply.
  • Take over lorries carrying Ethanol from the Highwaymen. Bring the lorry back to Prosperity to claim the Ethanol.

Fast travel is in a way limited

Even with Level 2 Expedition, you can only fast travel to areas designated as places.

This means you can’t simply mark any place on the map to fast travel to (just like other games).

Furthermore, you need to explore the map first to get more places to fast travel to.
