Mission 12 of Devil May Cry 5 is called Yamato and it relates to Dante turning into his demon side.
Your task is to get through the Qliphoth roots and once again deal with Urizen.
Here’s a walkthrough of Mission 12 (Yamato) in DMC 5.
Story
Dante once again heads towards the demon king Urizen. On a separate scene, V told Trish about his background and who he really is.
Proceed forward
Not long after you spawn, you should come across these red root cages.
You can destroy them to get the orbs inside.
More demons will appear.
Examine this statue
You will then reach an area with a statue in the middle. If you examine the statue, you’ll learn that you need blood flowing from all directions to get to the next area.
In the same area, you will discover two entrances that require Nidhogg Hatchlings.
Find the Niddhog Hatchling
If you get to the only unblocked pathway, you will find one Niddhog Hatchling.
Open the ground floor pathway
Personally, I used the Hatchling on the ground floor entrance.
You will then reach a pretty big place with lots of demons.
Keep going until you find the red blob on the wall. Destroy it and the blood will flow once again to the statue.
This is only one of a few.
Instead of going out, keep going further in.
Defeat Fury
A new demon will be introduced, i.e. Fury.
This demon moves very quickly and disappears in a matter of a second. You need to try to land your shots fast.
The missile launcher will come in handy here. Once it’s hit, keep attacking as much as you can before it disappears again.
Although it’s hard to hit it, the HP isn’t that high.
Forked road
After defeating Fury, go forward and you’ll see two pathways left and right, and one blocked middle pathway.
You can’t get to the middle one.
The one on the right also leads to a dead end. Go to the left one.
You’ll encounter more demons here.
Even the rhino demon is here.
Destroy the red core
After defeating the demons, destroy the red core and more blood will flow to the statue area.
Go through the new pathway.
You will reach a new area and you can see another red core / sac / blob at the end.
Before that, more demons will spawn. Kill them first.
Destroy the last red core
After destroying the core, the blood will flow and your job is complete.
However, get inside the place that was blocked by the core.
You will find another Niddhog Hatchling here.
Get out to the statue area and you should see a gold orb.
Use the other Niddhog Hatchling
Instead of going to the next area, you can use the hatchling to open the pathway above the stairs.
Inside the place, you will find a purple fragment.
Get under the statue
After collecting the fragment, get to the statue and you will find a new entrance below the sword.
Jump down and go forward.
You will reach another place where you can customize.
If you proceed further, a cutscene will load, which shows Dante and the Griffon here.
He then stabs himself with the Devil Sword, and turns into a demon.
Defeat Urizen (boss battle)
During the cutscene, Dante will fly all the way up to Urizen’s lair.
This time, you can actually defeat the demon king. With the demon power, the battle is so much easier and the demon king’s HP will drop quickly.
Keep attacking using the Sin Devil Trigger (better than the regular DT).
After defeating Urizen, he will disappear through the blood flow. Dante will be reunited with the rest, as they plan to chase after Urizen.
And that’s pretty much it for Mission 12 of DMC 5.
