Defiled Isle is one of the islands in the Explorer Shores where you can gain more materials.
Like most small islands, there is no story in it and the main purpose is to gather ingredients.
Here’s a walkthrough & guide of Defiled Isle in DQ Builders 2.
To unlock this island, you need to pay 3,000 gratitude points to Captain Brownbeard.
What to do in the Defiled Isle
Like other islands, you have to complete two checklists.
Completing both of them will grant you an infinite supply of oil and bones.
To tick items off the checklist, go to the item in the island and press “check” when the prompt appears.
Most of the items are quite straightforward. You can find plenty of these rafflesia-like plants and dragon bones lying around.
Many of the plants are also located close to the poisonous swamps.
Some of the special rocks and creeper plants can be found on the rocky hills.
Apart from just gathering materials, you can battle super strong monsters.
This green troll is much stronger than monsters in other islands.
After defeating him, I gained a new recipe on how to make the Sword of Ruin.
You can also find a Builderdom’s Best here where you can recruit a singer back to your Isle of Awakening.
As for bloodstone and blobs, there should be an area in the map that has plenty of them.
More difficult items to find
There are some items on the checklist that are harder to find.
Those are usually minerals. Just use your echo flute and you will be led to the location.
The mythril was actually under the poisonous swamp (being led by the echo flute). Use your bottomless pot to drain the water and you can see it clearly.
Once you’ve completed the bottom checklist, you’ll gain an infinite supply of oil.
Another ingredient hard to find is the magnetite. Use your echo flute again and you will find it easily.
If there’s no echo at all, the material may not be on the island. If that’s the case, you need to go back to the Isle of Awakening and come here again.
Another difficult ingredient was the tingleweed. This flower-like plant wasn’t available the first time around.
I came here a second time and found plenty of them on the highest parts (hill) of the island.
Completing the top checklist will give you an infinite supply of bones.
And that’s it for Defiled Isle in DQB2.
