Death Stranding: Order 39 (Escape The Battlefield) Walkthrough

Order 39 is the start of Episode 4 (Unger) in Kojima’s Death Stranding.

Your task is to escape the battlefield and defeat the mystery man played by Mads Mikkelsen.

Here’s a walkthrough of Order 39 in Death Stranding.

Find a way to escape the battlefield

You will immediately appear in what seems to be a battlefield between the dead.

The first thing to do is to perhaps get your cargo back. They will be lying around on the floor near where you spawn.

Head towards the location shown on your map, indicated by the Odradek scanner.

Just follow the road and keep going. You may be blasted by some bombs or get shot by bullets on the way. Remember to have a blood bag equipped.

After reaching the marked location on your map, another weird cutscene will load. You will see the mysterious man in your visions.

Look around the area for him. You don’t need to climb out of the walkway or you’ll be shot by some random bullets.

Just walk around and your Odradek scanner will tell you if something’s nearby, just like it detects a BT.

You will meet Mads Mikkelsen and a couple of his soldiers. They will fire at you. Defeat all of them and Mads will disappear.

There will be additional weapons and blood bags on the ground if you need them.

Continue doing the same thing. They will keep disappearing upon defeat and spawn somewhere else.

Just look for them again using the Odradek and defeat them again.

The mysterious man (Mads) will probably spawn 3 or 4 times before it finally ends.

After the last time, a cutscene will load showing Mads trying to grab BB from Sam.

Order 39 ends here and Sam will be teleported back to the real world.
