Grinding is an all too common a theme in MMORPGs. MapleStory M is no exception despite it being on mobile.
You can rely on quests most of the time when you’re at the lower levels, but you have to start grinding later if you wish to level up faster.
I’ve already written one on ways to level up fast in this game.
That said, this article is only concentrated on the best places to grind in MapleStory M and which Star Force Field was the best for me.
1. Levels 1 – 90
This part is the easiest in the game. You can pretty much rely on quests alone to get you here.
The need to grind starts somewhere between level 90 – 100 if my memory doesn’t fail me.
That said, it’s still easy pretty easy to level up and you can level up at least once a day.
2. Levels 90 – 99
Here’s where you start slowing down in leveling, but is still relatively fast. If you have enough stars (total enhancements on equipment), you should check out the Star Force Fields.
When I was in this level range, I trained in SF 30, i.e. the Cactus Desert, and it’s recommended for levels 90 to 100 even in the game.
I still mostly relied on quests to level up in this range. You don’t really need to grind that much here.
3. Levels 100 – 110
For levels 100 to 110, I personally trained at SF 40, which looks like a lab.
It’s called Lab – Unit 102. It’s not exactly the best place to train until you hit level 110, but it’s great for saving potion.
These robotic monsters do not use magic attacks and merely hit you physically by touching. You can probably save some potion here.
The EXP may be good at the beginning of level 100, but not so much at level 109. Some people may also opt to train at the Sky Terrace 2 for both mesos and EXP.
A smaller group of my friends went to SF 65 instead as the EXP is better than SF 40 but the Kentaurus uses both physical and magic attacks. It’s more potion-intensive.
I guess it’s up to you here to decide which Star Force Field (SF) to use. It depends on how good your equipment and your weapon are at that level.
Also, some classes tend to survive better when mobbing (e.g. Dark Knight when charging).
By the way, nobody really recommends SF 45 or 55, so it’s hard to find a party there.
Jumping from SF 40 to SF 65 seems to be the better option.

4. Levels 110 – 120
Going from level 110 to 111 is easy because the quest happens to give you a big boost of almost 75% EXP which is insane.
The real grind starts from level 111. The best spot for this level may either be SF 65 or SF 80 depending on your equipment.
If you can kill the Nest Golems in SF 80 fairly quick and not die, it’s definitely a better choice.
I recommend at least full uniques for SF 80, and your weapon should be close to legendary at least (e.g. max level unique).
At the moment, I’m using a low level Mythic claw, so I’m able to kill the mobs here in 2 hits with my mobbing skill, and 1 hit with my throwing stars.
When I was using my unique claw, I think I took 4 – 5 hits to kill, but in a party of six players, it may be sufficient. Most importantly, you need to be able to survive when you’re doing auto-battles.
The faster you can kill, the better. Also, there are plenty of parties in SF 80, which is great for grinding purposes.
Another option is SF 90 if your weapon is really good. Although most prefer SF 80 to SF 90, the latter isn’t as painful.
Helly and Chirpy do not use magic attacks, so you will probably survive there. Furthermore, for Bowmasters who hate getting knockbacked, SF 90 may be good for you as they don’t do knockbacks.
Otherwise, just get a full set of yellow jewels for knockback resistance if you wish to use SF 80.
Some even train at SF 105 or SF 110 but that is only worth it for those who are using great end-game equipment.
