Atlas, At Last is a main mission on Promethea in Borderlands 3.
Your task is to meet up with Rhys to take the vault fragment and defeat Katagawa Jr.
Here’s a walkthrough of Atlas, At Last in Borderlands 3.
This mission is recommended for level 17 and above.
Listen to Rhys
The mission begins after you speak to Lilith. The first thing to do is to simply listen to Rhys.
Head to Meridian Metroplex
As Rhys has the last vault fragment, you need to go back to Meridian Metroplex to take it from him.
Head to secret Atlas HQ entrance
Go towards the Atlas HQ marked on the map.
Inside, you’ll meet a couple of Maliwan enemies. Clear the path.
There’ll be waves of Maliwan forces along the way to the HQ.
Finally, walk through the entrance with the Atlas name on it.
Enter the building.
Get vault key fragment from Rhys
Your next objective is to look for Rhys to get the vault fragment.
Reboot defense cannons
After entering the HQ, it will be attacked by droves of Maliwan forces. Together with the Atlas soldiers, take out the Maliwan enemies.
Your aim is to reboot the defense cannon but you have to clear the path first.
Get to the location shown in the map below.
Inside the building, you’ll have to deal with the Nullhounds as well. They are hounds with shock abilities.
Once the area is secure, press the button in the control room to reboot the defense.
Head to final defense control
Next, head to the final defense control.
Continue walking from the control room instead of jumping down to the ground floor.
You’ll have to clear the path from Maliwan enemies again.
Inside this part of the building, there’ll be even more enemies. Take them all out.
There’s also an elite enemy here.
Reboot defense cannon
Finally, you’ll reach the control room. Reboot the defense cannon by pressing the button.
Hold off Maliwan forces
While waiting for the cannons to stop more forces from coming, you need to hold off the Maliwans.
You can use one of the turrets located on the platform to kill them easily.
Take elevator to Rhys’ office
Once you’re done, get back to the building and use the elevator to Rhys’ office.
Go all the way to meet Rhys.
Find secret path
To reveal the secret pathway, interact with the item on the desk.
Follow Rhys down to rooftop
Once you jump down to the rooftop, you’ll start a boss fight. So be prepared before doing that.
Defeat Katagawa Jr (boss)
Turns out, the fake Zer0 that betrayed Rhys is actually Katagawa Jr. and the real Zer0 went on his own covert mission.
Katagawa Jr. is pretty weak and can die easily, but it’s hard to actually shoot at him.
He can sort of ‘teleport’ or ‘quick step’ near you to slice you like a ninja. If you keep running, he probably won’t get to you.
The real trick is to shoot at Katagawa. He constantly uses a ‘mirror’ skill where he will create a few fake Katagawas.
To know if the Katagawa is real, you need to shoot at him. If you see the health / shield bar on the top of the screen reducing, then you know you’re shooting at the real Katagawa Jr.
Anyone else would be fake.
He also constantly teleports to the higher platforms. Look up to find him. Your radar on the top right screen is very handy for this fight.
Once you’ve defeated Katagawa, there’ll be plenty of items to loot.
Meet up with Rhys
Next, meet up with Rhys again.
During the conversation, he’ll ask if he should keep or lose his beard. I chose to keep it and apparently he’ll remember it for the future.
Collect vault fragment
Next, take the vault fragment from Rhys.
Bring the vault key back to Tannis in the Sanctuary.
